Aberdeen Schools Project
The Aberdeen Schools Project was held by Landsbanki and was a PFI project covering 11 schools. The project was a mixture of new build and refurbished schools.
The original project team were all placed in receivership and Land Group Capital was appointed to lead the disposal of assets.
The equity was sold to GCP Capital and senior debt to a consortium including JP Morgan, Blackrock and IFM Investors. The complex transaction resulted in Landsbanki’s receivers obtaining close to £100m in receipts, far higher than the initial valuation.
Altnagelvin Hospital Laboratory
The development comprises 75,000ft² of purpose-built accommodation, built to industry standards and tailored to the specific needs of the clinicians and pharmacists occupying the premises. The building is a standalone facility adjoining the main hospital complex.
Managed by The Land Group, construction was provided by Farrans with Integral providing on-going facilities management. Financing was arranged through Ash Corporate Finance with The Allied Irish Bank.

Nurses Tower, Royal Free Hospital
The 66,500ft², £18.5mn development for The Royal Free NHS Trust comprised an eight-storey building within the hospital grounds. The lower three floors contain a specialist medical ward that benefits from a garden and two external areas for recreation. The second to sixth floors accommodate 94 single bedroom residential units, with lift access to all floors.
We worked with the Trust to develop an innovative funding solution for the scheme, attracting a substantial housing grant and funding from Notting Hill Genesis, who operate the residential accommodation for the nurses and other medical staff. With this in place we were able to deliver state-of-the-art facilities.
Maidstone Hospital Laundry
An old warehouse was acquired in poor condition and extensively refurbished, re-clad and extended to provide approximately 26,000ft² of modern, industrial accommodation to the Trust’s specification.
Working in partnership with The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Ash Corporate Finance developed an innovative finance package with the Bank of Scotland to provide a fully-fitted laundry facility, utilising a mix of new, refurbished and relocated equipment.
